Medical 101 For Writers

July 5, 2010toJuly 18, 2010

July 5-18, 2010

Have you ever wondered about the truth—or lack thereof—behind some of the medical scenes depicted on TV, in the movies and in popular fiction? Ally Blue, a real-life RN for over twenty years, gets down to basics in this workshop to explain what’s real, what’s make-believe, and how to make your own medical scenes more realistic.

Topics covered will include:

  • Deciphering doctor-speak: Medical terminology for the rest of us
  • Them Bones (& all the other parts): A crash course in human anatomy
  • Common medical, surgical & traumatic conditions & what the medical community tries to do about them
  • You mean TV lied to me? Creating a realistic hospital environment
  • Sorting fact from fiction: clearing up popular misconceptions
  • Resources: Where to go for the facts you need

Sign up for the workshop is now closed.

To pay via other means, please contact our treasurer at treasurer@rainbowromancewriters.com
