June 13, 2012toJune 17, 2012

The Golden Crown Literary Society (GCLS) is a literary and educational organization for the enjoyment, discussion, and enhancement of lesbian literature. Our goals are to support and strengthen quality lesbian literature by providing places for readers and writers to interact, to encourage and assist new writers and established authors, and to recognize and promote lesbian work.

WHAT: The Eighth Annual Golden Crown Literary Society Conference. All readers, writers, editors, publishers and friends/supporters of lesbian fiction are welcome to attend. There will be scholarships available.

The eighth Annual Goldie Awards will be on Saturday June 16th – always a surprise or two awaiting us all there!

WHEN: June 13-17, 2012

WHERE: Minneapolis, MN, at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Bloomington, Minneapolis-South

Keynote Speaker:  Jewelle Gomez

This year will be a particularly great year, as we start moving around the country to cities where there are known communities of writers and readers who will welcome us.  Minneapolis is no slouch in this arena, with many well known writers in the area, not to mention a fab-u-lous community of women who are helping organize the conference.

If you have never been to a GCLS Conference (called “the Con”), you will get a special welcome inviting you to join with other “Con Virgins” to participate in a pre-conference event as well as to various occasions during the Con.  It’s an experience you don’t want to miss!

If you are an RRW member planning to be there, let us know so we can organize a get-together on the ground.
